Common Sense Media (CSM) is a non-profit organization that provides education and advocacy to families to promote safe technology and media for children. Al-Mizhar American Academy - Dubai is applying to become a Common Sense Digital Citizenship Certified School. The school is currently taking a whole-community approach to preparing its students to use the immense power of digital media to explore, create, connect, and learn. This initiative is aimed at limiting the risks that exist in the online world, such as plagiarism, loss of privacy, and cyberbullying. In particular, AAM has introduced Digital Literacy in the curriculum and the aim is to harness technology with free research-based classroom tools for learning and life. The K-12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum teaches our students how to make safe, smart, and ethical decisions in the digital world.
